Janet Wischnia is one of the owners of Thomaston Mills, manufacturer of American Blossom
Linens. Since she was 4 years old, she has been involved with the family business started
by her grandfather. She learned from the ground up about the textile industry from sweeping
the floors to manufacturing to marketing. She brought back American Blossom because she
perceived people are looking for sustainable products, impeccably made in the USA by our
friends and neighbors, products that will last and never go out of style. You might say
they are obsessed with making sheets. Her extended family has been manufacturing in the
USA for over 115 years in Thomaston, a wonderful town in the middle of Georgia, despite
the fact that most of their competitors have moved all of their production overseas. Per
the Bureau of Labor Statistics, between 1990 and 2016 there were a total of 516,000 jobs
lost in the textile industry; they took part in none of these job losses.
To stay ahead of the times, they cut out the retail locations and are bringing the linens
to you via their e-commerce store. Now you can buy well-made luxury bedding at a very fair
price directly from the manufacturer. American Blossom is directly responsible for
approximately 90 jobs in America amongst others unaccounted for within our ecosystem by
spending locally. When you invest in American Blossom, you are supporting sustainable
agricultural practices, a reinvigoration of the once thriving textile industry, local
supply chains, and your fellow Americans. When you choose American Blossom, you choose
American quality, farm to bed!
