About the Stork Angel Ceramic Wall Hanging
Our artist interweaves decorative ceramic artworks with narrative animal imagery. The clay medium allows her to capture the whimsical nature of a creature along with the meaningful narrative of the image. Her Stork Angel is an allegorical synthesis of three figurative entities :
The Stork - a symbol of childbirth and kindness in Western culture
The Angel - guardianship symbol, personifying divinity and spirituality
The Fish - represents baptism and miracles in Christianity, and happiness and freedom in Buddhism. Furthermore, Celtic lore regarded the fish as a sign of wisdom and birth.
With olive leaf in hand (also an image for goodwill), the Stork Angel stands as guardian upon the wall, providing symbolic protection and lively symbolism for the home.
Please note: Each stork angel sculpture is individually handcrafted in white earthenware clay one a time, resulting in slight variations in the size and shape. Approximate height is 13 inches.
